East Lake (Donghu) is China's largest urban lake at 33km², roughly six times the size of Hangzhou's West Lake. The 28km Greenway around its shoreline was named one of CNN's "10 best lake tours in the world." This half-day cycling tour rents you a bike at Lingbo Gate, follows the lakeside greenway through Moshan (Mo Hill) Scenic Area, the Hubei Provincial Museum exterior, the Plum Garden (peak bloom February), and the Lotus Garden (peak July-August). Difficulty: easy, mostly flat, ~15-20km of riding with photo stops. Tandem bikes available for kids. Includes bike rental, helmet, English-speaking guide on bike, and a packed lunch.
